IFAD MTCPⅡ Started-up in China

  IFAD MTCPⅡ Started-up in China From April, 2 to April, 3, Medium Term Cooperation Programme With Farmers’ Organizations in Asia and the Pacific phase 2 (MTCPⅡ) executed by Agricultural management institute of Ministry of Agriculture of China started-up smoothly in Beijing. At the same time, the Miyun County training of farmers’ cooperatives supported by MTCPⅡ was successfully held. More than 100 farmers’ cooperatives directors from Miyun County are trained centrally in the training and MTCPⅡ Regional Coordinator Ms. Maria Elena Verdadero Rebagay was invited to attend the meeting.

  MTCPⅡ which will be executed from 2013 to 2017 is sponsored by IFAD,and aims to strengthen the small peasant organization’s capacity-building and network construction , and enhance their ability of participation in policy advice . The General Station of Administration on Rural Cooperative Economy of Ministry of Agriculture of China is responsible to conduct MTCPⅡ in China, and Agricultural Management Institute of Ministry of Agriculture of China unites relatively corporations in carrying out the project .From this year on ,in order to help farmers’ cooperatives improve their level of operation management and policy consultation , the project will set up the effective organization and management system , scientifically select the working area and subject about the project,intensively open up education and training and international communication,etc.

  This Miyun County training is one of the activities of MTCPⅡ in China this year, which intensively instructed cooperatives development situation and the policy environment, and agricultural marketing,etc. The cooperatives directors said that they have learned knowledge and policies a lot and they are full of confidence in developing their cooperatives in future.
